Characters

Martin Mystère

Scientist, archaeologist, seasoned detective; Martin Mystère is always looking for a puzzle to solve.  Incurably inquisitive, Martin’s adventures have taken him all over the world in search of the answers to life’s greatest enigmas, be they scientific, historical, or esoteric.  A formidable scholar, Martin approaches the unexplained with a healthy dose of skepticism, yet he’s still able to retain an open mind on every possible hypothesis.  His ability to laugh at himself and his many foibles, however, is his greatest quality.

Java, his assistant

Hailing from a remote village in Mongolia, Java is Martin’s loyal assistant.  A man of many talents and few words, Java is an intuitive man who has a strange, almost cathartic relationship with nature.  Martin has known Java for many years, and though his personality may be quite different than Martin’s, he is nonetheless a treasured asset and a most steadfast friend.

Diana, Martin’s wife

A woman of patience and ingenuity, Diana has been married to Martin for many years.  She is a vital comrade whom Martin often consults for advice.  Wise and thoughtful, Diana also has a devilish sense of humor which she relies on to mitigate Martin’s peculiar methods of operation.

Professor Eulemberg, the victim

The Professor, 66, was a highly respected scholar and lecturer who wrote many books on the history of civilizations and ancient texts.  An avid gardener and art collector, the Professor was a childless widower who resided at an enchanting villa located at 4 Purple Rose Street.  With his death, the scientific world has lost one of its most brilliant minds.
